How do you get the word out about upcoming mergers, new company products or business name changes? One great way to share your exciting news is with a press release. What is a press release? In order to get the word out, and get it out fast, Rapidus Media needed to reach out to both business owners to obtain details related to the partnership. Quotes, business backgrounds, and stats about both businesses were key points that needed to be included. For this client, the one bit of news that stood out the most was the potential creation of 200+ jobs over the next 2-3 years for Georgia.

1. Is it newsworthy? This is not the time to get try to sell your product line. How does your announcement effect the rest of the world? Does it open up new jobs? Will it change the industry?

2. Use a good headline. Your headline to the story should be strong and explain in one sentence what you are trying to convey.

3. Speak Media. In most cases (and I can personally speak to this), your press release will be used as the launching point for any stories picked up by writers and members of the media.

4. Just the facts. You may remember watching the popular Dragnet series where the line, "Just the facts, ma'am," was uttered. Try to adapt this same strategy to your press release. Speculation or guesses have no place in a press release. Most importantly, be concise.
